Karting With Heroes Small but Mighty

Small, but Mighty…those are the words we use to describe Back on Track. However, this sentiment applies equally to young Tony Hudgell, our Mascot…who at 6 years old is clearly not a Veteran…but who has overcome huge adversity in his short life, winning hearts and awards along the way.

He has made firm friends with many of our injured veterans and was there supporting them in September 2019 at our last Karting with Heroes race and was as disappointed as we all were when the 2020 Race had to be cancelled, so to make it up to everyone and to inject some fun back into life, we have a new, special event, Karting with Heroes – Small but Mighty – planned for Summer 2021.

But because of the strong likelihood that Covid restrictions will still be in place, Karting with Heroes… Small but Mighty will be by Invitation only as we will need to limit the number of attendees.

SO, HOW IT IS GOING TO WORK?

There will be five teams of 10 drivers in each team.

Team names as follows:

1. SMALL BUT MIGHTY

This will be Tony and his team of intrepid injured veterans. They just want to win.

2. THE SUPERSTARS

The charity has loyal celebrity following and they have all been very supportive, turning up to cheer us on at all hours and in all weather. They are incredibly competitive too, so expect to see some speed.

3. THE STUNTMEN

Our Professionals/Stunt Drivers. These are the drivers behind some of the most exciting film and television stunts you have ever seen. Or are likely to. Like the Celebrities they have supported Back on Track from the beginning. And they are fearless.

4. THE ARMED FORCES

Our Armed Forces are the best in the world….but are they they best drivers? They think so.

5. THE ENTREPRENEURS

Smart, inventive and used to winning in business. Can they do the same on the track?

All drivers are to arrive between 15:00 and 15:30

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

Firstly, if you are interested in driving then get in touch with us. Contact us (see I’d Love to Drive) giving your name and contact details and which team you are interested in joining and you will be put in touch with the relevant Team Leader.

And if you know an injured Veteran please do encourage them to put their name forward too. We want to hear from you all.

If you are successful, then you will drive for FREE. However, we ask each team to work together to raise money for us, with a target of £8,000 per team…and to help you, we will open 5 separate Donation accounts so that you can ask your friends and family to sponsor your and your team, because the team who raise the most money will be given pole position on the starting grid.
