We may be a relatively new charity, but the word is getting out, and our army of volunteers and Ambassadors is growing, because Back on Track are delighted to announce that Dr. Johnson Beharry VC, has just joined our ranks. Dr.Beharry VC is a genuine hero, recognised by the award of the Victoria Cross, the highest military decoration for valour in the British and Commonwealth armed forces for saving members of his unit. His story is well-documented and his VC is undoubtedly deserved, so to have this charming, self-effacing hero offer to come on board and help our cause is a real honour for us.
We are also delighted to welcome serving officer, Major Tom Oakley. Major Oakley is Company Commander, 1st Battalion Irish Guards with several tours of duty under his belt, so he knows first hand what it is like to be in the firing line, and the injuries and trauma which can be sustained. He has supported Back on Track since its inception and has been instrumental in raising awareness for our charity to many divisions of the British Army.
Back on Track is growing… we may be small, but we are mighty!
